So I wanted to use Women’s Rights as my final research paper of the semester for my Contemporary American Social Issues and my professor says it’s not a widely recognized social problem???? That means I can’t use it for the paper. wtf dude
This is what she said “You may feel that this is a problem, but it has not risen to the level of an acknowledged, social problem in our society — it needs to be acknowledged as such by sources that are scientific and academically credible. Things like child abuse, mental illness, drunk driving, homelessness, and cyber-bullying are all examples of topics that have been acknowledged as social problems. Please look for another topic … and provide research to support it.”
If anyone wants to help me out with my argument that’d be great, ‘cause I think she’s seriously wrong.
one of the worst things about becoming educated on social issues is when people are like ‘you used to have a sense of humor’
no i used to have internalized prejudices which i’ve worked really hard to overcome and i realize now that your jokes are shittyAlways reblog this because becoming more socially aware makes you dislike a lot of people
Since I’m majoring in Social Theory I’m learning so much and unfortunately this conversation happens way too often between my parents and I. :/
